Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn association is a group of young people dedicated to promoting the Shorthorn breed in Wisconsin and the midwest. Membership is open to juniors age 8 to 21 and costs $10 per year for annual dues. For more information on the Wisconsin Shorthorn Association please email us at info@wisconsinshorthorns.com.

Junior members are the leadership of the Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association. These young leaders help guide the association and promote Shorthorn cattle throughout the midwest.

Benefits of membership include the shared promotion of the Shorthorn breed, promotion of your cattle operation in our annual association directory and website, news of association events by mail or email, and fellowship with other Shorthorn producers and enthusiasts!

Scholarships
We are proud to offer scholarships of $150 each to students beginning their education or continuing their education in a post-secondary program. Applications must be postmarked or electronically received on or before June 1st. Applicants will be evaluated on their application. The scholarship is open to any current dues paying member of the WJSA pursuing a post-secondary education and who has shown cattle above the county level. Applicants must have a satisfactory scholastic record.

Lassie Program
The Wisconsin Shorthorn Lassie program is a great opportunity for young ladies to promote and represent the Shorthorn breed and the Wisconsin Shorthorn Assoc. One Lassie queen will be selected each year and should be able to answer questions about the Shorthorn breed and the Wisconsin Shorthorn Association, hand out ribbons and provide assistance at shows, have picture take with the breed winners at shows, and attend other promotional events as requested

Each year members of the Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association travel to the National Junior Shorthorn Show in various locations across the United States.
