The vision of the Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn association - WJSA is to provide quality service and support to its members and promote the value and integrity of Shorthorn and ShorthornPlus cattle.  The Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association provides support and service to its members by providing high quality education, events, and activities.

The Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association – WJSA is led by a Board of Directors that is elected in June at the Wisconsin State Shorthorn Show. Youth who are 12 years old by January 1st and who have not reached their 22nd birthday by January 1 may serve as a Director.

Junior Membership
Membership in the Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association - WJSA is open to all youth who are interested in Shorthorn and ShorthornPlus cattle.  Membership age is 8 years old by January 1st and youth must not have reached their 22nd birthday by January 1 in order to be considered a Junior member.  All paid members will be listed in the Wisconsin Shorthorn Association directory.

2018 Scholarship Recipients

The Wisconsin Shorthorn Association offers scholarships to students beginning their education or continuing their education in a post-secondary program.  Applications must be postmarked or electronically received on or before June 1st.  Scholarships are open to current dues paying members of the WJSA pursuing a post-secondary education, have shown cattle above the county level, and have a satisfactory scholastic record. Shorthorn Junior Nationals
Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association youth are encouraged to exhibit at National Junior Shorthorn Shows.  Each year members of the Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association travel to the National Junior Shorthorn Show which is held in various locations across the United States. 

Exhibitors must be a paid member of the American Junior Shorthorn Association and must be 8 as of January 1st and not have had their 22nd birthday as of January 1.

May 1 – Ownership and Entry Deadline. 
May 15 – Late Entry and Substitution Deadline.

Friend of WJSA Award
In 2012 the Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association created a “Friend of WJSA” award. The Friend of WJSA award is presented to anyone who has actively shown support for the Wisconsin Junior Shorthorn Association.  The award recipient is selected by the WJSA members present at the Wisconsin State Shorthorn Show Junior meeting.  The Friend of WJSA award is an annual award to show appreciation to all who help make the WJSA a vibrant and successful organization.
